Well finally got my animal record book back from Dept of sticky beaks and money grubbers along with a caution ...Apparently I'm on thin ice in regards to obtaining future licenses because I didn't have my book in by 30 April.
Dont worry that there were huge gaps in regards to Double Bars bought by myself from persons without a license and the addition of a Turk that just flew in and made itself at home , no these are matters of no importance to them but put your book in late and wham condition 7 kicks in and I'm under the microscope.
WHAT A FRIKKIN JOKE ... Noticed they didn't mind taking the money for the next year , its not about wildlife monitoring at all its all about the bloody $$$$$$.
Very disappointing .

Unbelievable isnt it!
You can understand why people keep the birds and just dont apply for a licence.
This is one of the reasons why I dont keep any birds that need a licence, as much as I would like some of the species I just dont think its worth the aggro or the money.

am glad I live in SA, havent had any trouble with the govt over my permit.
even when it was a month late being re-newed and my bird count was just as late.
looks like the over zealous dimwits are in NSW govt at present

Move West Ladies. If your renewal arrives before it is due, you can pay it on time. But if it does not, just pay is pretty soon. Unless it requires an APB licence just update it when you get the renewal and even though you are supposed to say if you bred it or bought it half the people don;t and no one seems to worry. With an APB licence required bird you better take the licence with you when you buy it and make sure it is behind double doors. Please.

First time I got my licence, think I was about 14 at the time, licence was for 3 years, books went in with my first renewal, got a little letter letting me know I was a bad boy as they are due annually, & any further breaches I was in deep. About 2 years latter I bought some Yellow Rumps when I moved back home from Bundy, no import permit, I got nearly the same letter, but still no visits or fines. Now, I've got to put in my return sheet for my import licence, was due in Thursday, wonder if I can make it 3 from 3.

Seems to be about red tape and $$$$ , not being a good liar I literally dobbed myself in for having 7 birds that did not come from licensed breeders if it was about the birds I should have a ranger at my door ask why ? where ? and how I came to have these birds.
No wonder not many people worry about a license , no real need to coz no one gives a hoot.
