Finally a few different birds in town. Picked up a couple of juvi gouldians today for $25 each. No colour much yet but still a couple of new additions. We might have some birds to fill the aviary by christmas, lol.

Yeah, be another 6 or 8 weeks I guess. He had a few other bits and pieces coming in, so I will have a look later in the week when I take the boss back into the airport. I found another 4 eggs in a nest yesterday, so I have 5? babies (i think) in one nest and another 4 eggs, plus a dove sitting on one in a feed dish lol. Looks like they are liking the warm weather. And all the fresh grass seed etc they are getting. No shortage of feed now after the 13 inches of rain we got over the last month, wetest september since 1865 !

Congratulations on the finches and the rain. Over here many of the farmers are writing off this season. Expect the cost of food to go up.

Rain, take the bloody stuff PLEASE, 14inches (350mm) this week & 8 of them fell Sunday, Monday. 180mm & 120mm respectivly. Stuffed up what was going to be a slow start to the school prawn season. Expected to get about 3 ton, instead we got about 30kg.

Hmmm, pro fisho I presume ? I used to fish out of Bundaberg many moons ago, lol. We have been able to start planting today, still to wet to harvest. We sprayed 4000 acres with the plane yesterday. They are forcasting another inch or so on friday/sat. We need to plant around the clock to try to get some in before it rains again ! Our roads are all washed out also, we have to travel 100km in the road train to cart our grain 4km ! Bloody whingin farmers, lol.VR1Ton wrote:Rain, take the bloody stuff PLEASE, 14inches (350mm) this week & 8 of them fell Sunday, Monday. 180mm & 120mm respectivly.
