Nectar eaters in the wild love it, but beyond that no idea.

ive got some in my aviaries that have been fairly heavily attacked by the stars to no ill effects! painteds used the old flowers as nest linings too

PROOF neither kangaroo paw or mondo grass is toxic to birds , mine have just totally shredded both in the aviary are all alive and well

Ahh. So the birds are bad for the plants but not the other way round.

I have always worked on the theory that if the sap is white Latex type then I will not use it.
Thistle heads only not stalks. I can't think of any grass type that is noxious.
If there is limited green feed available the birds my eat too much of the one type.
I feel that too much Johnston grass doesn't do Parrot Finches much good yet a little is great

They now have a huge branch of some sort of native pine ( forget the name ) which they are shredding instead of the plants , also have a bag of pine cones Ill put in tomorrow to give them something else to destroy.

sounds like the she-oak (allocasuarina i think? terrible with plant names
