hi all and i just come home from a lady that has budgies and cockatiels and she told us that she has eggs one day and the next day there are less can mice or rats be the problem

Mice or rats may well be an issue.
When I kept budgies I had a pyscopathic hen that used to enter the nest boxes of the other hens and throw out the eggs. Always fighting with the other hens too. I got rid of the hen (no, I didn't sell her on) and the problem stopped.
If there are insufficent boxes (one per pair, plus a few spares, all at the same height), then something similar may be going on.
(I had heaps of boxes, this particular hen was just homcidal)

Yes, it can be either of those. Mice are horrible - you weren't around then but I had almost all my finches eaten by mice.

Blah saw one in the loungeroom last night ... went to all the effort of mouse proofing the aviaries and the human aviary has a mouse
