Just another quick question guys & girls, I am working out some dimensions for another aviary to put the quarrians in and maybe the budgie as he seems to have become quite intrigued with the finches lately, and was going to go 1.8m cubed for ease of construction as this suits the wire width etc. As it is raining at the moment and we are having time off after our last hectic 3 months I could whip it up in a half a day, just need to go to town and buy the steel and wire.
They are currently in a 2.8m x 2.8m x 1.8m h aviary with finches and doves so I'm guessing that 1.8m cubed is plenty. I know people keep them in smaller cages, but I like to give them room to move, thanks in advance.

Depends how many but definitely get them away from the finches.....your finches will do so much better on their own than with Quarrions......and they'll all live extra-ordinarily longer and breed like flies without that budgie.......
If there's 2 Quarrions and a budgie, 6ftx6ftx6ft is fine......go longer for more birds, give them more space to chase each other about
While you're at it......would you mind knocking one up for me..........4.2 X 3.6 divided into 3 1.2m wide, sloping roof starting at 2.4 at the front, 6mm wire,.............in panels so you can pop it in the post

I have 1 pair in a 2.5 x 1.5 x 1.9 with a pair if turks and it looks too small to me however they can stretch their wings from perch to perch so it is sufficient.
In my 3 x 3 metre they have 1/4 of that enclosed for breeding boxes and the rest open and they only ever hang around the front 1/2 of the aviary anyway so I dont know , as big as you can make it I guess is my answer.

Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

Yeah just the 2 quarrians and a lonesome budgie. I should have time to knock that up this week as we are supposed to get heavy rain until next tuesday, do you want me to send it express-c.o.d. ? It will be 25mm rhs, so shouldn't weigh more than 100kg's. lol.mickw wrote:Depends how many but definitely get them away from the finches.....your finches will do so much better on their own than with Quarrions......and they'll all live extra-ordinarily longer and breed like flies without that budgie.......

Yeah he might leave the quarrians alone then, he is only young and he walks around behind them and nips their tails, lol.dano_68 wrote:I think that is pleanty of room, and even some left over to get your budgie a girlfriend! lol
