These photos were taken 18 months ago, the quail in question is aprox two and a half years old.
What sex would you say this bird is?

From the advantage of observing the bird for 2 1/2 years now.
When it first coloured like this and had a full bib and NO CHESTNUT FEATHERS and grey on the front, I thought. Ahh a mutation.
Mum was a nomral cinnamon and Dad a silver split cinnamon.
Then next moult when it came out ALL cinnamon.
And regular changes of feather colour, it is the only quail I have bothered to ring because of the Oddball feathering changes.
Now with that extra info would you like a 2nd guess before I tell all?

Odd looking bird for sure.above the neck looks hen,Below the neck to belly cock,below that hen.I wonder what a dna sample would read.
