Been looking at this forum for a couple of weeks now and finally got round to introducing myself.
My name is steve, my family and i live on the central coast, N.S.W.
My son and i bought some gouldians for my wife for christmas as she was hinting that she didnt have any birds to look after. She has a large fish tank but because my main passion is racing pigeons [wifes only interested is on race days] she wanted birds she could be involved in. Years ago i bred show budgies but after seeing gouldians on the web thought with such beautiful colours that she would like them. And yes she loved them and now just finished building breeding cabinets for her.

Hi & welcome to the forum.
Once you reach 5 posts you will find a few more areas of the forum become available to you.
Good luck converting your pigeon cages to finch cages once the addiction really kicks in

Thanks again, well i had the birds out again today and was thinking about the different situations.
There is nothing better than watching your birds flying around, wheather around the loft or within the avairy and observing their habits and seeing them mature however imagine releasing your prized or favourite bird 10, 100 or 500 klms from home and waiting for them to return.
Had one of the gouldians die today so going to check out some for sale tomorrow, the hen only looked a little fluffed up 2 days ago so will have to keep an eye on them.
Just got to laugh when the cock bird does his dance on the perch, this one went on for nearly 10 minutes it seemed.
