first stinking hot day today and didn't the poor birds feel it ... least its dry heat and watering the aviaries down gives them some respite...

Not usually so bad here , dry heat means you can get cool but this year its been around 30 up til this week so its hitting harder than usual anyhoo beats floods and fire so will kick on.

It's a pleasant 27.5 with a light breeze blowing, on this Aust. Day. But how long will it last? Threat of a cyclone coming down.
With luck it will, as most do, peater out before getting this far down the coast.

Check out the weather in Coober Pedy.Ouch ! forecast for well above 40 every day this week and a 47.Heard they had 47 yesterday and one report said 49.9 for today but i dont think they got there.I did a trip to Adelaide a few years ago and stayed at Glendambo on the way down. They had 50 deg that day and at 9 pm it was still 36 and a hot dry wind.Alice gets hot but that area in Sth Aust puts us to shame.
