quail????

2 times now and my male quail is jumping and landing on top of my zebra finch nests the first time my dog scared it and now he just jumped up or flow up? what should i do

It's quite rare for the quail to fly for no reason. I wouldn't do anything. just try and be more cautious about scarying it. If problem persists, remove quail.

it could be any number of things scaring a quail, real or imaginary. A branch knocking against the aviary, a mouse, etc.

My pair did the flying high thing a lot in the larger aviary so I moved them to the smaller walk in aviary and they stopped . My guess was it was too open for them where as now they are more enclosed and have a darker area to find sanctuary if they get spooked .
Maybe the dynamics of the aviary is such that they dont feel secure , have they got plenty of hiding holes ?
