Does anyone use a good software package which they can recommend?
I'm after something which I can use for all my birds, not just the finches and I want it to be offline as I don't want my info on the web. I'd prefer something that was easy to use but have no experience with any of the ones available. I've had a quick look at the zoo easy and evolution pro sites and will download the trial versions to see what the interface is like before I part with any hard earned.
Thanks in advance.

This is the one I now use. after using Birdrec for years I like this one as you can record pics + any records you can think of.also gives you a print out. If your Interested PM me and I'll email you more Info and where to get it.It's the easiest one I've used yet.

the Ikhom site now has non-finch sections, but it is online... no one can access the account though

I didn't know it had non finch sections but I'd still prefer a software that is only installed on my computer. I'd feel safer. I hate big brother.

I'm still trialling bird evolution pro and zoo easy, expect I'll come down on BEP as it (so far) is the best i have found in tracking the genetics and family relationships of the offspring.

With BEP I read that you cannot split pairs up to re pair with out either deleting the pair first, or keeping the original pair and creating another pair but that then gives you a false count on the overall pairs.
Is that right? Also, do you need to go online to track keep or is that just for updates?

I asked the seller a few questions re tracking breeding records and he suggested that the software was not for me. I've asked him a couple more questions so I'll await his reply.
It's a shame if it doesn't suit my needs as I really the mtr function which allows you to print them out in a format that are apparently suitable for the aust. governemnt.
