Hello all
Does everyone have night lights installed in their avairy's and if so what have they found to be the best types.
Im going to build an avairy and would like to have these installed first. Either at floor level or ceiling height.
Have seen small solar ones advertised or maybe try the garden parthway ones, any ideas welcomed

I have solar lights in all the aviaries, once they have been charged up the light is quite good.
I got mine from Bunnings $20 has a solar collector and two spotlight type lights, will get a pic or two tomorrow for you.

Nice pics Di,
hmm, if they're that cheap I might get 2, one for the shelter and one for the flight... might also attract some nice yummy moths :)
Hey, I wonder if they would make solar hospital cages, as running a wire all the way from the house down to the garden would be a pain... :P

You might not need two Jay, in the box you get one solar collector and two lights. Each light has about 3 mtrs of cord and they both plug into the collector from underneath. You can see one plug on the collector in the first pic but there are two plugged into that.
Mine have been out in 43C and when its pouring down and worked fine.

Thats how Ive been able to light 4 aviaries with just 2 packs, in the main (biggest aviary) now that I had to take the second light to use in the smaller aviary Ive positioned the one left in the main aviary to point at the galv metal on the seed hopper, thought it might reflect a bit more light.

Thanks everyone for your feedback, great pictures as well, looks like a good investment.
Was thinking about lights especially for thunderstorms, fireworks and other problems so the birds can find their way back to their perches and nestboxes at night.
