Some very large amounts of Johnstone grass on the road from SwanHill to Wood Wood (Murray Valley Hwy) For those in the area or heading that way. Was a lovley sight having never seen it in large quantities. And yes I did manage to rip out a few plants,Wish I had got more though.After cutting them down to pot it was only about 8 plants I pulled out.

I noticed johnson grass growing in paddocks near wagga, on the Sturt Hway. Remember it grow there 20+ years ago. Seems that all this rain recently has extra benefits. I have tried before to transplant large clumps of root stock which has the green leaf cut back. Found that sandy soils worked better than the original heavy clay soils and it takes a couple of seasons to take hold.

I have transplanted some I have found around my yard here,Also last year I brought some back from Mildura,It is slightly different from here.All have survived and seeded,But is slow to thicken up.Mine are all in pots aswell.
