I started with a pair of zebra finches in early early 2005 they had 4 babies i kepted one and bought a female for it when 6 months old. They have been together ever since, produced lots of babies. Yesterday he looked pretty fluffed up and to-day found him in the nest dead. The female looks pretty distressed looking for him. My question should I get another one or do you think she is to old, she would be about 6 years old. I really don't want to get another zebra as I have other species now. There is another pair of zebras that have been in the aviary with her for the last 6 years could I just leave her by herself, she is looking pretty old too.

Yeah probably best give her a rest from breeding and keep her in the aviary with the rest of her days especially if shes six years old.
