This is the nesting log we have just made for our gouldians. It has an internal MDF divider in the middle, and the bark in the middle is to provide a little privacy screen. When we put it in the aviary we will add shrubbery for more privacy.

Top job!
Bet that was a job and a half getting the MDF in the middle.
Imight have to take a trip around and see if I can find a one like that. Failing finding a freebie I will see how much they are at the local bird place.

BB - hubby did that bit, he said it was a bit hard as the inside of the log is uneven.

We are trying to keep the environment as natural as possible (as much as metal cages can look natural) and figured in nature that is where they would nest (gouldians I mean). Not sure when we will get to test it out, will give feedback when we manage to. We got ours from a guy in a nearby suburb, he gets them from people's properties and hollows them. Price was much more reasonable than bird places.
