Just got this via email from my sister about a scam involving the Tax Office, I did check on the ATO site and it states that there is a couple of scams going around.
I couldnt get the example to show in the post, but it looks VERY MUCH like something you would get from the Tax Office, so pass this information around.
Thought this would be the easiest way to let a lot of people know quickly.
If anyone wants to see the email just send me an email and I will send it on.
Please be aware that you may receive an email claiming to be from the Australian Tax Office over the next few days. These emails seem to come from ‘[email protected]’ or similar, and contain official ATO branding and copyright text.
The refund status button takes you to a copy of the ATO site hosted on a Czech server. Any details you enter on this site will be used to steal your identity or hack online accounts you may have.
Please be aware that you or other members of your family may receive the same email, putting your home computer at risk.
