Last known/confirmed sightings?

When discussing rare finches (and the like) in Australian Aviculture, it is always said "you never know what's still out there!"

Well I'd like to know when the last time people have kept these species themselves or seem the in someone else's aviaries? Species like Aberdeens (pure), grey singers, cardinals, whydahs & weavers, the less common munias, the less common parrot finches, quailfinch, twinspots etc?

I can confirm pure Aberdeens 6 pair and some young (Can't say were but in NSW) (Won't part with any other to existing breeders

I had pure Aberdeens - 5 pair - until last year and sold them into NSW
Still have plenty of Javan munias

They are still around but breeders are keeping it quite until they have stock to sell so they aren't being harrassed. I'd get an email a day when they were on my website.

Twinspots... I think they're on the uprise! peter's anyway.
Recently saw some grey singers (at least 4 pair) closeted in some breeder's collection.
Senegal waxbills.... Red Shouldered whydahs (2009).... Pintailed Parrot Finches (2008).... Orange Cheeked waxbills... Purple Grenadiers.... Violet eared waxbills... all still around (albeit in small numbers). Enough to give us some hope

Still quite a few senegal, orange cheeks and purple grenadiers up here. Quite a few orange cheeks bred this year by one breeder

seen a few green strawberries orange cheecks senegals yellow winged pytillias a few months back all breeding at the time aswell and of the natives the red ears

According to the last census presented at Finches 2011 their numbers were actually falling, despite several being bred.
Of course, not all breeders are cooperating with the breeding program or the census, so who knows?
Either way, they are hardly booming! But at least they are still here and still breeding.
