So while Im scraping the seeds out for the bin Im thinking ....will these hurt the birds ?

Any ideas on toxicity of paw paw seeds if any ? Thanks

I have given my birds paw paw but non took any, they were cut in quarters with seeds and all, have a finch breeding book with a picture of a cross bill eating paw paw seeds so by that I would say its ok but don't know for sure as I don't know if it is toxic.

They are a folk remedy for gut worms and used as an enema  .

Dried and ground (ripe black ones not immature white ones) are sometimes used as a black pepper substitute, they are spicy.

I used to occasionally offer Pawpaw seeds to my Parrotfinches many years ago. The Red-faced liked to eat the shiny glaze off the outside of the seeds. Haven't tried for years as I don't eat/like Pawpaw.
