I do remember seeing this - do you know this person? I wonder how long the villain in this story was apparently looking after these birds for, a few weeks, 6 months, years even? How long is too long to be looking after somebody else's birds and feeding them and such? Maybe this person had just had enough of it? But then on the flip side why would they not contact the owner and tell them to make other arrangements with the birds? Or make some kind of deal where they would benefit in some way but keep everyone happy?
Not knowing the full story makes it difficult to judge I guess. So I am not judging either party there. Hope they sort it all out though.

I know a guy (different to the one in the link), that had started to sell some birds after they were left with him for "a couple of weeks", and the people left no contact details. I think he had been housing them for about 4 months.

Without knowing the whole story it is hard to judge hey ?
Ive heard of a fella looking after some birds for a "mate " on the promise that they be picked up if the minders house sold ...of course the house sold , the owner put things off again and again and the minder really had no choice but to take the birds to auction .
Some times people take kindness to be a weakness ....

Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.
