So my king quail hen has been sitting on her eggs for a while now, I have been expecting them to hatch any day now. The nest was in the front corner of the avairy, silly place to nest but the quail seemed to like it. Last night we had quite a bit of rain and a bit of wind to drive the rain in the avairy a little. Only about 30cm in got wet, everything else is still dry. The quail and her nest obviously got very wet. So this morning she has abandoned the nest and eggs and is now sitting on some zebra finch fledglings in a back corner of the aviary. At least she is being helpful!

Quail are not know for their brains when it comes to nesting sites. Mine also have a tendancy to take finch fledglings under their wings.
