I know its wayy off topic but im thinking of tearing down one of my big salt tanks and keeping a couple of murry turtles. Anyone here keep them? i was gonna get spinifex hopping mice but decided im better suited to turtles. Also means getting another license. Tank would be 6ft by 2ft by 2ft. Had snake necks as a kid so no a bit about them.

Anyway if anyone keeps them and can give me a bit of hands omn info it would be appreciatted.

Thanks.

Ben

I hope your are talking about our local Turtle
They are smelly units, easily caught when fishing the Murray River here,
We even have one in our pond or at least we had one.
I could think of far better examples for your tank

i also had a long-neck turtle as a kid.

unlike you however i have not forgotten how revolting they are! :D

i wouldn't in million years keep turtles indoors. i know how temping the babies can be but within a year you have a big hungry monster thats outgrown a narrow indoor tank and stinks up your house with their pungent urine.

if i really was to keep a turtle - it would be outdoors for sure!

get a green tree frog. wonderful pets.

Krefts are a nice alternative and dont grow as big.
