What is the best way to provide birds with multivitamin powder.I have read that when mixed with water is loses it potency quickly
.I have read to add it to sprouted seed, mix with sunflower oil and mix this in with the birds seed this I feel is the best way.

Adding multivitamin powder to sprouted seed or a soft foodmix will be good.

Ive been reading on the WWW that adding vitamins etc to birds water is not the best way to go ..

As said on the food is better however whenever I have done so they dont eat the food .

Another option which Ive seen in an old mates aviaries are those medicine bottles that clip onto the wire upside down with a small hole for access to the fluids .

The vitamins are put into these while the drinking water remains drinking water . I think they are called canary something and of course getting the birds to drink from them may be another problem .

I guess you could try both options and see what works ...

Ornithon powder has been around forever .

I have a large container but I dont use it , I kinda think a varied diet , sunshine, clean water and fresh air is enough, having said that I do give my hand reared babies Pentavite drops every other day until they eat on their own .

The best we've found is Solvita from Allfarms in Victoria.

Some of the cheaper yet well known ones leave a ring around the bowl if used in water which I'm told is the sugar component - never used it in water , always in the sprouted/soaked seed.

If u need a water based something for moving birds or getting them ready to be moved try Troys Vita-B.
