I have been rearing a zebra chick for about 5 days now. She was ok yesterday morning. Chirping for her food and begging. During the day however i noticed her weezing and making clicking noises instead of chirping.
She is still begging and eating fine. What are the chances she will get better? Is it best i just end it now? I have already lost one chick to this.
What do i do?
Newborn chick with fluid on the lungs!

Is it possible that it may have aspirated some of the hand-rearing formula?
If not, then it most likely will be a respiratory infection. You could try some antibiotics which may help but these little guys are so vulnerable at this age. Just make sure that where you keep them is warm enough and has adequate humidity (approx 65-70%).
Good luck.

I was going to suggest that she has upchucked some food ....they are so tiny .I hope I never have to hand feed a finch baby.
