Red head, beak is red not yellow. Yellow head always has yellow beak.

It is a red-head but given the small amount of red & its broken expression if it was a normal red-head it would be one with black mottling all through the red area. Should be culled if you have any regard for the amount of red on the head of your hens (and their young).

Well mum and dad were both split black head, could that be the result of how the red with black mottling happens except in yellow back??

I don't think you can get a split black-headed hen.

Well I don't know how that's possible because their other daughter is a black head.

If the father is split black, that's sufficient with the sex-linked gene to produce red & black hens.

Black is sex-linked recessive to red so when the male carries the black gene you don't need any further genetic input from the mother to produce some black hen offspring. With sex-linked genes a split is only possible in males.
