G'day All,
Have finally decided to take the plunge and join an online bird forum. Currently I do not keep any finches or softbills however hopefully that will change in the future as space and time permits. I am here to learn more about these awesome birds and contribute where possible although my knowledge on these birds is somewhat limited. Well that's about it for now.
Cheers,
Jade

Welcome Jade,
I see you've come over to a finch forum to learn how to be a REAL bird breeder, not those easy foreign parrots
We're generally a very friendly group and your avicultural experience will be most welcome.

Thanks guys. Now I've got to put a real name to the user names on here so I know who's taking pot shots at the parrot keeper

No hookbill envy here Deb. I like & keep both.
The reality is that few parrot breeders make good finch breeders, whilst most good finch breeders do make successful parrot breeders.
I'm sure that with his skills and eye for detail that Jade would be successful with any species he chooses.

Well loving this already. Let me just say I wholeheartedly agree that parrot breeders often do not make good finch/softbill breeders where as finch or softbill breeders do quite well with parrots. I have always said and maintain that parrot breeders have a lot to learn from the finch/softbill breeders. Of course I get a bit of flack for it too.

G'day Jade, after 5 approved posts more of the Forum will become available to you. Don't pay any attention to this mob you don't have to be crazy to be a member here but it definitely helps.
