an unexpected surprise found in the aviary today.
was certain I had got rid of all birds that could cause this unwanted side effect

That young bird is showing alot of blue for a bird so young.Must be sick and needs a new home. :thumbup:

You think that you got a surprise!!! Two months ago I took out all the Gouldian nest boxes as I had bred too many and wanted to give them a break. Yesterday morning there were six just fledged youngsters on the perch. The parents had found a small half log on the aviary floor and had lined it with pine needles that had fallen through the roof. Must keep a closer eye on things in the future. :roll:

I'll just put it out there...this bird may help my flock...Different blood lines etc...It does look extremely healthy!!!
Are you going to Singleton...maybe we can chat & exchange birds for dollars?....

It's a thought...

Nice catch, well sure still have 2 splits in there. What an excuse to spend this fine day in front of the aviary...searching for the birds feeding this youngster. :lol:
