I had forgotten about that bird shop. I must get up there while I am on holidays. :)

For the Illawarra people there is a good bird shop in Warilla. The birds are always healthy and the shop is always clean.

I posted this the other day in the Lounge, but as it has something to do with the birds nest (bird shop) I thought I would list it here too.

...You have to read this, I remember when I first saw a Gouldian; I remember saying to a friend at the time ‘it can't be beaten on colour’.

If I was going to write a story of the origins of the Gouldian this is what I would of wanted to write. 11 out of 10.

Love that story about the creation of the Gouldian finch. The appointed one sounds like my girl as a littly. Quality not quantaty. Which is also as it turns out, the way to keep finches.

no truer words have been spoken FB, quality care equals quality birds. - every time.

I popped in to the shop the other day to let the owners know that I thought the story was wonderful. I couldn't stop myself, and came out with a new pair of Gouldians.

I dropped in at "The Bird's Nest" the other day. Although a nice looking and clean shop, unfortunately I was not very impressed. There were a number of sick finches which should never be on display including a diamond with a very wet vent, another diamond very plucked on its head and back, and a longtail that I doubt would have survived the night. In a shop, I understand it must be very difficult to manage health issues when birds are coming in and out on a daily basis, however in my view there is no reason for sick finches to be on display or worse still offered for sale. I'd suggest they need some assistance from an avian vet to sort out their health management practices.

Hi all,
I dropped into this shop on Monday this week and he has sold out of most of his finches, he seems desperate to buy some so if anyone has any spares he will probaly take them off your hands.
