prior to the rat invasion my diamonds were breeding very well. i HAD about 100 birds and they consumed one plastic container of milk millet per week. now at $28 a container purchased in Sydney plus freight that was a pretty steep eating experience.
the green millet might be pretty good BUT once youngsters had fledged - i couldn't see any difference in health/fitness of the young.
did they like it YES! - is it a waste of money NOT SURE - i suppose it's like comparing junk food to quality food. if you were unaware junk food was not good for you - you'd be none the wiser.
i have sold about 2500 mini donuts in the last couple of weeks. we all know their junk food BUT it doesn't stop my customers eating them
anyway if things go really bad i can always throw away the donuts and eat the millet. when i come into breeding condition -watch out l,o.l.

I just ordered it through the online article delivery service at one of my jobs; I should have a pdf in the next few days.
PM me your postal address if you want a hard copy; your email address if you want a pdf.

There is a review article from 2011 about the importance of unripe seeds in protein nutrition which covers all kinds of animals and all kinds of 'developing plant tissues'. I have put it in it's own topic - http://www.aussiefinchforum.net/viewtop ... 42&t=14285 -because it is long and sciencey and doesn't really answer the question posed in this topic.

I think they are likely to have different nutritional values and should be regarded as two different foods, rather than one being better than the other, though I have no data on sprouted seed to enable formal comparison. :geek:
