Yeah as far as I know fireworks can only be let off by pros at organised functions however this is Dubbo and they let them off here year round in back yards paddocks etc.
My staffy goes bolistic over it.

Am used to the Jack Russell being a quivering wreck sitting under my chair every time they let the things off, but the birds on the whole have seemed pretty Ok - but this pair I only got 4 weeks ago. And Kevin who I got them from is further away from the Marina where they get all B noisy with the things than I am. I'm sure I told "he who prefers tools" I would rather a bigger block than be in walking distance of the ocean.

I have installed 5 of these new type fluo lamps (3 watts) apparently the same light as a 40 watt old style. They come on via a timer at dusk and off at dawn. The running cost is minimal compared to the loss of some of my breeding stock.I also have a 2nd circuit with another 4 but 11 watt. These are manually turned on if the birds have been disturbed, thunder storm or like New Years eve with yahoo's letting off fireworks. My losses were zero.I can't stop the fireworks or the damage they cause but I can limit the losses.
1 dark little red firetail sitting all alone on the ground ....we have a fledgling yaaaaayy
Put some tee tree branches down last night in anticipation , just in time hey.
