Gary, unfortunately you have misconstrued my intention. My comment although somewhat "tongue in cheek" was designed as a mark of respect to a new member who is willing to give them a try. Firstly, I'm just one person, and the thought of blue knockers doesn't appeal to me either

. I don't personally know of anyone who has found blues to be as hardy as normals, including some with vast experience. They do have special housing requirements - It's no secret that most who toss them in an exposed backyard aviary have had great difficulty keeping them on the perch. And as Craig mentioned, it does seem some of our Vic. friends have got stronger lines going.
