Hi everyone,
Out of curiosity, can we currently get the lutino blue face parrot finch in Australia? If so, are there any breeders out there?
Thanks

They are around but not many... I only know of one breeder that keeps them atm.
Out of curiosity, what was he asking for them? I've heard they command a pretty steep price tag atm.Painted4 wrote:There was 2 pair for sale at the Adelaide sale last weekend.....Lutino with a split pairing
He must of sold a pair, because one disappeared

In that mutation yes they are very high. To minimise them requires very regular outcrossing to normal genotype Blue-faced Parrotfinches. In lutino to split pairings I'd only ever use splits bred from a normal parent. ie. splits bred from lutino to split parents have no genetic strengthening value at all IMO.
