I can't remember the exact number, but there were I think 23 class with a bird in each from 5 clubs. In other words a lot of birds.

They also had an auction in the afternoon, with 48 lots sold, all being Zebra Finches. There were quite a number of red's from the west, as well as a pair of Isabel's selling for $205

Still nothing nicer to look at than a well coloured / marked Zeb a la naturale. Pity they became so popular , I wish I could sneak some photos of what a store in town is passing of as zebra finches ....undersized , small heads , mottly colour , beaks that look too big for the head and the list goes on.
And now sadly its happening with the quarrions , mottly looking birds with nothing going for them what so ever . Cheap birds that people continue to breed thus weakening the gene pool .
Fortunately we have another store that prides itself on good birds and you will pay extra for them but he will also buy back well bred birds .
Sadly not every one will pay the extra so the cycle continues . Anyhoo gotta love the humble Zeb , pity they breed so prolifically.
Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

Correct :!: Harry was at the federation and the book I was taking about was written by him and another chap called, Ken Glasson.
