Just took 2 baby Quarrions out of the nest ( 3 /4 weeks old ) and put them into hospital box , nice an warm went and put dinner on come back and one is dead .
Just went to sleep and died by the looks of it.
what on earth just happened

No Buzz but I think I will get some in the morning , have put other baby back in nest probly not the right thing to do but too upset to think straight at the moment....Never heard of spark what should I do when I find some >

Not saying shock was the problem.But if you mix up solution and crop needle a day or so before lifting it will help reduce shock and shock related symptoms.At 4 weeks of age they should have been OK.VR1Ton would probably have a better idea than me.Sorry for your loss

My first thought was a tricky heart , really shouldnt have been shock but who knows what they see when 2 great big hands reach in and lift them out of their nestbox.

Wouldn't think so, but you never know. I had a Purple-Crown up and die on me the other day, fully feathered was fine in the evening feed, next morning, dead on the bottom of the box. Had been rearing it for about 3 weeks at that stage, was nearly ready to be weaned, then dead, perectly healthy, apart from the dead bit. There may have been some underlying cogenital problem involved, so it may not have made it if you'd left it in the nest, but without an autopsy you wouldn't know, & for a Quarrion it may not be worth doing, but if it happens again, some consideration should be given.
