There is a genetic forecaster that has the YTB beaks as a choice when finding out what colour you would get with any particular pairing

Need to be online when using this one
http://www.amadinagouldove.cz/gouldian- ... /index.php

the one I use the most is the Carlos Matos, this one can be used when you are offline.

you need to get a code from him to allow the program to work his address is [email protected]

To me it looks like a well coloured hen. But it could be a poorly coloured cock. That is the trouble, there can be a very fine line between the two. The beak colours up on both sexs when in breeding condition. If in doubt isolate with a cock then a hen in turn, and observe.

Yes have taken into consideration that she is rather nice and have decided to wait till end of October to get her a mate . Have spoken to Ted Mc about getting a boy or 2 from him , nice birds worth waiting for.

Flab when a gouldian hen is out of season she will have a beak colour the same as a male, when she comes in to season her beak will go a charcoaly grey black when she is ready to breed. Thats one good looking girl deb.makes me what to buy goulds again but the boss will slap me down if I do before we move, the things we have to do to keep the peace.......PETE

I have a "female" like this too and she has never bred and is now over 2YO. In fact she doesn't receive any attention from the males even when her beak goes dark. I'm wondering if she swings both ways but is ultimately sterile? Since she is functionally useless in terms of breeding I think I'll get rid of her this year since she's had 2 years to redeem herself.
