Hi everyone, I am putting together a moulting seed mix for our gouldians trying to follow the ABK Gouldian book. However we haven't been able to get hold of French Millet. What would be a good substitute for it? Thanks.

No, the Fidler and Evans one is a lot more technical. We were considering buying it but I think it is beyond us at this stage and the new one is $80. so you did well to get one for $5.
The one i am referring to is A guide to gouldian finches and their mutations. By Rob Marshall, Milton Lewis, Ron Tristam, and Terry Martin.

Just did a google on white millet subs and the nearest I got was white rice ( was referring to a human diet) . You would have to go in depth to find protein % fat % etc etc then compare it to other seeds .
I get mine form a produce store if thats any help .

Hi, Kukulas Bros in William St Perth have bulk White Millet seed at $2.50 Kg. It's a great shop that sell all kinds of seeds, nuts , dried fruits etc.
Hope this helps. Cheers Greg.
