Sorry for not getting back to you, didnt realise the post.
I have only been keeping finches for two years, and keep Gouldians (red and black head), a pair of Stars, a pair of Orange Breasted, and have good success this year with Painteds. I bought two pair this year from a breeder at Coffs Harbour, and they have bred well with good results.
Wish I had more room, but we all say that... ;)
