I have several pairs on their second clutch with young and all seem to be ok. My avairies are insulated and have plastic blinds to the front which I have been leaving down all day during this cold burst in Melbourne. But for my pairs that haven't gone to nest yet I will be pulling the nest boxes soon as our weather is too cold to be starting breeding for any pair...cheers, Paul

Following from my post yesterday, today I pulled out three dead OB babies from their nest. My guess is they died of . We are taking the nests out to stop any further breeding until spring. The adults seem fine but clearly too cold for the babies.
