Crested mom or dad for crested babies?

Same is for Budgies i think as well.
Breeding Show Zebra Finches, Blue Gouldians, Pied Orange Breast.

hi im interested in breed some more finches which finches are easest to breed other then zebs?

Not good with genetics, but I do know that when I've breed a creasted with a normal I get about 50% creasted and 50% normal but when I breed the non creasted young with a creasted I find that they produce about 90% creasted, so to me I call them a split I could be wrong in the naming as splits are generally used with colour. As for the non creasted young I see no difference on the Crown to a normal bengo, but this is just my breeding stock.

Thanks guys. Glad to know it.

Got my new babies yesterday. It's funny, I didn't expect the breeders to know the sex of the birds, but I asked if they knew which were hens and which were cocks. One breeder said he could tell for sure, giving me a "hen". Well "she" sure acts like cock. :)
